  1. Great episode, Fr. Roderick! After hearing your great recommendation of BSG, I’ll have to check out some episodes after hearing how much everyone enjoys it! Thanks and my God continue to bless you and all the work of SQPN.

  2. @Daniel – I highly recommend watching the episodes in chronological order; it’s not like Star Trek where each episode stands on its own. The miniseries would be a good start – they introduce you to the story, and are pretty cheap on DVD (you can get them via the Amazon link on SQPN.com)

  3. I recently tried BSG until about halfway through season 1, but I’m afraid it’s not my cup of tea: too depressing and too many explicit scenes.
In my opinion the best sci-fi series remains Babylon 5 (not counting the dismal fifth season), followed by DS9.
I just wish I could get the DS9 DVDs at a decent price, though, but compared to BSG or Babylon 5 they are outrageously expensive.

  4. Hello Fr. Roderick, for some time now, its seems to be impossible to download the podcast without Itunes :( .
Can you bring the mp3 podcast download back?

  5. I agree heartily with danshaku about BSG, with specific regard to the sexual/sensual overtones. (I believe Greg Willits commented on this several years ago, asking “What Would Jesus Watch?”) I did like the writing…but unfortunately Braga, Moore et al hold the Hollywood opinion that nobody will watch TV without the sex.

However, Father–you are spot on regarding Bolt. The DVD/BD contains the added short, “Super Rhino”–most excellent, if you haven’t seen it.

  6. I had the same reaction to Bolt that you did; i.e. it far exceeded my modest expectations. I watched it with most of my family one night, except for my daughter, who fell asleep. The next night I watched it all the way through with her, and enjoyed it just as much the second time. Considering I often fall asleep during kids’ movies, that’s saying a lot!

  7. Father,

great show. I listen on my way from San Antonio to Omaha.

Can you give us a lost update or review, it is really getting good. BTW San Antonio just had their annual fiestas and they were a ball! We look forward to see you this summer.

I know it isn’t SCIFI but 24 is a good show for you to watch not that BSG is gone.
