I agree with Christian. Thank you for having the courage to speak out on this touchy subject.
However…I gotta disagree with you on Star Trek. While I did enjoy the movie, I definitely have mixed feelings. Whiz bang special effects? Yeah, that’s a given. Same thing for non-stop action.
But there’s altering the “canon”…and then there’s flaying it open and doing major reconstructive surgery. There are several flaws and holes in the story–particularly from the perspective of an 18-year Air Force veteran.
After so many major changes, where DO you go from here? Which timeline? Why even use the original crew, and go to the trouble of making the new cast members look like the original, when the resulting universe is now so different?
