The ring was found again surprisingly quickly, though! :) So many other things could go wrong on the day, that's supposed to be the most beautiful day of one's life :D But you're so right: this first day is just the start of an entirely new state of life. And one has to grow into that. This is true, whatever one's vocation is - whether marriage or the priesthood. And your review of 'Britain’s Biggest Loser' made me ROTFLMAO! Especially this one: "Hey, it's in the Bible" ... Whether it is just daily prayer or a very austere spiritual setting, I never underestimate my ability to be distracted by thinking or worries. However, also like you, on the day of my ordination I was worrying about the people who were visiting from out of town, my spiritual director who had come over 500 miles to be there, family, friends etc. We they all comfortable, were they going to be able to follow the directions and find the Cathedral, etc. etc. Laying on that floor, I thought to myself how the marble was very cold and comfortable, but I worried I would trip on my alb when I stood up...
