Fr. Roderick,

My husband Phillip and I met you in San Antonio a few weeks back (will post the pic on FB). We traveled to Galveston this past weekend and on the way down from Houstn where we live, we caught up on your podcasts since returning from SA. I wanted to write to you because we were listening to your Transformers review and I have to tell you, we laughed so hard, I had tears in my eyes. The "bucket of Coke" comments to the "hot girl" comments were hilarious. I think you may have a second calling - that of comedian! You are awesome and we so enjoyed meeting you in SA. Keep up the great work and God bless you!

I agree about the "Trashformers" movie. The first movie was great, aside from perhaps 2 or 3 scenes that were disgusting. The sequel, however, was very much over-sexualized. The jokes were terrible.

I laughed about your description of American-sized Coke buckets. The portions aren't that big everywhere. At theaters they charge outrageous amounts, so they feel like they should make you feel like you're getting a good deal. $12 for a gallon of coke and two gallons of popcorn? No thanks, I can't afford it!

Fr. Roderick. Not only was your reinactment of the movie funny but it also sounded like an old Beavis and Butthead show. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Hi Father Roderick,
I have been a listener for about a year & love the show- but have inconsistent listening habits- I'll skip a month & then go back & listen to them all at once... Anyway, I have just finished the daily breakfast show about your trip to Athens and have to say that THAT bar ploy happens in many tourist cities- not just Athens. I am a US Navy dependant and back in the 1970s I can remember warnings coming out to military personnel about that same tactic in other cities such as Tijuana & Tokyo.
I have also recently finished your show about how you spent Easter week. I am a fairly new convert (5 years) and although I was already Baptized in the Christian church, I got to experience the joy of being welcomed (home) into the Catholic Church during an Easter Vigil service. It was something I will always remember and have never missed an Easter Vigil service since. This service is SO Beautiful! It is one reason why I am so happy to be Catholic.
That and oh- also you and all of the new Catholic media folks at SQPN. I was helped in my decision process by listening to EWTN on the radio but I am sure that SQPN is really making a difference in people’s lives.
Also- I am still very new to catholic music. Can you play some occassionally on the Daily Breakfast -so that I can choose some to purchase? That would be great!
Sorry for the long letter- I have never written before and guess I had a lot saved up…
God Bless you and keep up the good work (And congratulations on getting in shape. – I think I will go check out Healthy Catholic for some physical (vs. spiritual) inspiration).
