My mother was a stewardess for SAS (Scandanavian Airlines) during the 60′s and she enjoyed the show and brought back memories of the times. u00a0She enjoyed trips to Rome and Paris and said she felt safe traveling as a young single woman at the time, but would not even consider it safe today.

I enjoyed the show somewhat.u00a0 My dad was a Pan Am 707 captain out of SFO in the 1960′s and flew out of JKF during the 1950′s.u00a0 He as one of first 707 jet pilots in the world and was one of the first 747 pilots in the world too.u00a0 BTW, Boeing always gave the first orders of their planes to Pan Am.u00a0 The other airlines got them later than Pan Am..u00a0 Pan Am was unique.u00a0 Tower radio calls NEVER identified Pan Am as the carrier but always called out Clipper flight XXX instead.u00a0 Further Pan AM’s cockpits had extra room in them for sleeping quarters.u00a0 They never allowed the pilots to sleep in the main cabinet as other airlines do today.u00a0 Lastly because Pan Am ONLY flew international flights (Except inner Germany to Berlin), ALL airline stewardess had to speak fluently a foreign language.u00a0 u00a0 Further my mom was a Pan Am stewardess in the 1950′s.u00a0 She would laugh at the flipant show aspects that they show.u00a0 The inspection thing is completely wrong.u00a0 Pan AM stewardess were not treated like show girls but bright young ladies because invariably they were more educated than typical flight attendents.u00a0 There were men stewards too at Pan Am.
