    What Would Kermit Pray?

I came across this wonderfully creative website with lots of photos of Kermit the Frog, including one of Kermit in Church.

Which made me wonder.. what would Kermit pray during this time of Advent? Post your captions in the comments!

I saw these captions on Facebook:

    Peter Palumbo:

    God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

    Carrie Rogers Corscadden:

Kermit would pray something for others. He’s always watching out for the whole Muppet gang. And maybe also for peace on earth….

    Quentin Lewis:

Pray, pray? Oh yes, I always pray……but right now I am planning my dive into the Baptismal Font!

Kermit is a simple soul, so he would pray in the way of St. Therese – he would simply show the great God what was in his little green heart, and our God would always understand him (because we know He speaks frog.

    What’s on the Menu?

Many of you have asked for the integration of menus in the new layout of the SQPN websites. It took a morning of intensive coding, but I was able to add a menu to the main website that will make it easier to go straight to the show or content you are looking for.

I will deploy the menu on the various subsites over time. Hope you like the new layout and navigation!

Maybe the menu needs a slightly snappier dropdown animation. This one is just a tad too slow, after the novelty wears off I can see it becoming annoying.

Please pray with me for a successful giving campaign this year. So much depends on it. It is always a very humbling (and somewhat scary) experience to entrust the entire future of SQPN to God’s Providence.

I’ll continue to pray for SQPN during this year’s Giving Campaign. Fr. Roderick, I heard on your last week’s episode of The Break that you were going to have an SQPN Advent E-Treat, will you be posting updates about that at SQPN.com, on The Break, facebook, twitter, or all of the above? Thanks.

SQPN Begins Its 2012 Giving Campaign

At the start of Advent, the Star Quest Production Network renews its annual appeal to people to help bring together the funds necessary to continue its mission of evangelization and education via new media.

Thanks to last year’s donations, SQPN has been able to grow its audience considerably and to have a real impact on the way the Catholic Church uses new media.

In October, SQPN organized the annual Catholic New Media Conference, which brought together an enthusiastic audience of Catholic communicators – and added an extra day of training and workshops to the program. We were honored to welcome Vatican Radio’s director Sean-Patrick Lovett, Bishop Christopher Coyne and Archbishop Joseph Naumann.

Apple was so impressed by the consistent quality of the SQPN podcast line-up, that they offered SQPN its own catalogue page in the iTunes Store. Combined with very positive reviews of our shows, this brought an additional audience in contact with our message.

Also, SQPN was invited to take part in the first ever Vatican Bloggers Meeting, and helped the Vatican stream the event to a world wide audience.

The SQPN websites have been upgraded to offer a more attractive introduction to the various programs. The SQPN logo was redesigned to strengthen brand recognition in various media.

New shows brought thousands of new listeners into contact with the SQPN community, and we have received many testimonials about how this has impacted their lives.

A new Social Media strategy has resulted in a strong presence of SQPN on Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus, and helped form and strengthen many relationships between members of the SQPN community.

SQPN has provided countless hours of live streaming each week, as well as streaming coverage of the Catholic New Media Conference in Kansas City. The chatroom provides the community with a daily meeting space to chat and to share.

For many people all around the world, SQPN is a daily source of inspiration, friendship and encouragement. We can only do this thanks to your generous financial support.

In 2012, we need $140,000 to continue operations and to realize our plans to serve our worldwide community and the Church even better.

The world is looking for answers, for guidance, for friendship and community.

SQPN’s New Tintin Podcast is a Hit

On the occasion of the European premiere of the Peter Jackson/Steven Spielberg movie ‘The Adventures of Tintin’, SQPN launched a new podcast about Tintin.

The show is already seeing downloads of more than 4,200 downloads per episode, making it the fastest growing podcast ever launched on SQPN, and the biggest Tintin podcast in the world.

Young Belgian artist Hergé (pseudonym for George Rémi) started his comic about the adventures of a young reporter and his dog in a Catholic newspaper in 1929.

Vatican newspaper ‘The Osservatore Romano’ called Tintin “a Catholic hero” and a “Western knight for modern times” because of Tintin’s quest for truth and justice in his adventures.

The movie ‘Tintin and the Secret of the Unicorn’ will be released in the United States on December 23, 2011.

        Hi,

I found the episode STT003: Tintin in the Congo the best so far. STT002 was to long. There are still some things that can be better but I still enjoyed listening. Looking forward too the next episode.

        Greets,

        Marcel
