Daredevil: Born Again: Shoot the Moon, The Scales & the Sword

STV003: The Red Hook prison break was always going to be the action centerpiece — but Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Episodes 2-3 earn it. “Shoot the Moon” and “The Scales and the Sword” deliver Jack Duquesne fighting guards bare-handed with rebar, Angela Del Toro arriving in Hector’s White Tiger medallion, and Karen pulling a trigger that leaves Matt visibly shaken. Three slash marks on AVTF tires hint the medallion is doing something — but the show is still holding back on what.
Jeff Haecker, Patrick Mason, and Rob Leonardi dig into what these two episodes are actually building.
The big reveal: BB is the masked anti-Fisk broadcaster. The panel debates whether Daniel is feeding her information from his laptop — or whether Sheila is quietly running a longer game from inside Fisk’s office. Daniel’s choice to warn BB rather than report her is the detail that keeps pulling at them.
Bullseye’s return is handled with misdirection. His opening church scene is shot to make viewers think it’s Matt. What follows — blue-toned lighting, a knife, and a visit to the AVTF officers in a hospital elevator — establishes a character arc far more interesting than anything Season 1 gave him.
Meanwhile, Heather is quietly unraveling. Her conversations with Vanessa and Kirsten, and the cracked drywall paired with a Muse mask in her drawer, signal something breaking. The panel traces the fracture lines across Fisk’s entire inner circle — Daniel, Buck, Sheila, Heather — and maps who snaps first.
The Jack Duquesne trial, shot in Dutch angles and stripped of any pretense of fairness, is Fisk’s clearest act of institutional capture yet — and the one that may finally cost him the loyalty of the people working for him.
