The AT-AT foot looks like it is meant to be partially buried. The part that is touching the ground looks to be flat. I’m guessing it is meant to be some kind of remnant of a previous battle or an abandoned Imperial base.
It would be interesting to evoke the skeleton from ANH with the “skeletal” remains of the Empire. Perhaps locals or gangsters have been scavenging the old Imperial machines and this is all that is left because it is too big to be useful? I can imagine an image of Jawas scavenging the old parts.
Maybe there is a group of people living out of an old base and there are bits of repurposed Imperial machines laying around?
