I forgot which episode it was where you were talking about the shape shifting Bear Man Beorn. I had to think of the Norse Berserkers who were said to have Odin-like traits like the ability to change form (fish, bears etc.). They were dressed in bear pelts (ber: bear – serker: hide/pelts). When they went in combat they were painted black and went in extasy before entering the fight naked. They were the horror of the Romans. Link: Wikipedia
