For some reason the trailer for the next episode kind of reminds me of the movie Horror Express.
not to think this too deeply, I am thinking maybe that it takes so long for the creature to grow inside the egg that over time things crashed on the moon, which would explain the rocks on the outer layer. Spiders, are the protectors of the egg once it starts to hatch, and it is possible that they eat the minerals and some of the fluid I guess. For the web, they might use that at the beginning to be able to move around in the low gravity, because we did not see them use webs during the episode. Just a few ideas and to close we did see a huge space whale carrying London in space….so a little suspension of disbelief is needed especially when you have a time travel show, that is complicated enough.
